What is digital printing?

Digital printing is the process of printing digital-based images directly onto a variety of label and shrink substrates. Inks used in digital printing include cyan, magenta, yellow and black (CMYK). We also offer orange and violet (OV) extended color gamut inks. Digital printing is generally used for short to mid-sized runs. It’s also compatible with many SKUs since no printing plates are needed.

Are there plate charges with digital printing?

There are no plates needed in digital printing, therefore no plate charges.

What sizes do you offer?

We have thousands of die sizes. Feel free to contact us for the specific size that fits your need. We also offer custom sizes.

What is the lead time?

Lead time is dependent on the product, process and quantity of the item that you’re ordering.

Can you match PMS colors?

We can match PMS (Pantone®) colors in flexo printing. With digital, we print CMYK plus OV when needed to match as close as possible to PMS colors called out. For complicated jobs, we have the luxury of an onsite Color Manager who will assist in matching your brand colors.

Can I see a sample before ordering?

With digital printing, we offer press proofs or ink jet proofs of your custom label or shrink sleeve.

Do you create the artwork?

We do not design artwork from scratch, but if you have the components or elements needed, we would be happy to assist you in making your vision a reality.

What is your minimum order quantity?

In general, our minimum order quantity (MOQ) is 1,000 labels or shrink sleeves, but if you need promotional samples we would be happy to discuss special services with you.

Can you print metallic inks?

Metallic inks cannot be printed digitally, but we do have options to give a metallic look. Feel free to contact us for more information.

How do shrink sleeves work?

Shrink sleeves are designed to slide over your container and then be shrunk onto it using heat. Shrink sleeves provide 360 degrees of printable artwork area and give a “printed on” appearance to your unique container shapes.

Can you apply my shrink sleeves?

While we do not apply shrink sleeves ourselves, we will ship your shrink sleeves directly to a co-packer or decorator at your request. Feel free to contact us for more information.

What equipment is needed to apply sleeves?

Shrink sleeves can be applied in many ways. For short runs, customers have used heat guns, clothing steamers and steam tunnels. For larger runs, there is specialized equipment that can perform the application of the sleeves in bulk.
